March-ing Into Spring

Celebrating March and the coming of spring, lends to the anticipation of so many things.  What is that you look forward to?  I love that March winds blow away Winter's chill and the sound of the songbird does give to mornings fill.

Sharing with you this week are a few quotes and writings about Spring and the month of March.  Following are some of the wonderful Etsy shops that comprise Team Vintage Vertigo along with some of their lovely vintage goods.  We hope you enjoy the read and browse...

"I wandered lonely as a cloud that floats on high o'er vales and hills, when all at one I saw a crowd, a host, of golden Daffodils, beside the lake, beneath the trees.  Fluttering and dancing in the breeze."

William Wordsworth

"Then you should say what you mean, the March Hare went on.  "I do", Alice hastily replied, at least, at least I mean what I say-that's the same thing, you know."

                                                           Lewis Carroll

book

brings to mind the writings of M. Romero LaFlamme...

"The sun is brilliant in the sky but it's warmth does not reach my face.  The breeze stirs the trees, but leaves my hair unmoved.  The cooling rain will feed the grass but will not slake my thirst.  It is all inches away, but further from me than my dreams."

"Each leaf, each blade of grass vies for attention.  Even weeds carry tiny blossoms to astonish us."

Marianne Poloskey

"The air is like a butterfly with frail blue wings.  The happy earth looks at the sky and sings."

Joyce Kilmer

"St. Patrick's Day will soon be here you see.  We'll pick some Shamrocks, one, two, and three.  We'll count the leaves and look them over, and maybe find a four-leafed clover.  I'll sew green buttons on my vest, green for St. Patrick is the best.  I'll wear a green hat, very high, and dance a jig--at least I'll try!"

"The March wind roars like a lion in the sky, and makes us shiver as he passes by.  When winds are soft and the days are warm and clear, just like a gentle lamb, then spring is here."

"March is a Tomboy with tousled hair, a mischievous smile,

mud on her shoes and a laugh in her voice."

Dave, these are some great quotes to go with your vintage items. I really like the flower plate, and the quote reminds me of some wildflowers that I saw today while taking a drive in the country. That tomboy quote is delightful too. Reminds me of myself back in the day. :) Great post, Dave.

Hi Sheri, wonderful you stopped by. I owe it to the authors of such lovely writings and the purveyors of such marvelous vintagicities. Gails plate is truly lovely and reminds me spring is here. There's a wonderful quality in that of a tomboy and who could go wrong with a gal who's not afraid to get her hands dirty or bait a hook? Thanks so much and always a pleasure.

Yes indeed Renee, and an added plus would be that she could strip-off 40ft of flyline and cast the same, Hehe! Always great to have you stop in!

Great post and some lovely items! I think we will get an early spring in MN (at least I hope so!) I've never been a tomboy but can relate better to the first picture of the lady with the straw hat and flowers in her arms. Love reading this blog - thank you! Linda. :)

Hi Linda and thank you! Yes, whether you're a girly girl, a tomboy, or a little of both, it's all about surrounding yourself with all that you love and adore. I too love everything vintage, from apparel to quotes. I'm glad you enjoyed and I hope you'll stop by again.

Dave,
No, those weren't malt candies. They were just chocolate with a hard shell, but I loved the pastel colors. :) Malt is my favorite though, and it sounds like you like it too. :)

Have a splendid week.

Hi Sheri, Yes, malted milk ball candy was my fave and I especially loved the hard candy shell that left a "lipstick" like coating on your lips, lol! Thanks for the share on your blog and always nice to see you stop by!
